Rick Just Rocks!

This week has been a very difficult one with my teenagers. I'll just come out and say it .. my older two kids are seriously considering going to live with their dad. This is all their idea, not something I desire at all. He lives a little over an hour away, but who knows if they will stay there or move somewhere else. Needless-to-say, my heart is broken. But they are teenagers, so how long can I fight? And how long do I make them stay in a home where they are miserable?

Without Rick's continual love, support, hugs while I cry, perspective, voice of reason, encouragement and humor, I seriously might just throw in the towel.

So, this week, Rick just Rocks!

  2. Nicole,

I am so sorry to hear this about the kids. Just know that I'm praying for you. Email me anytime and let me know the next time you're at your parents. Maybe we can coordinate a time to get together soon???

  3. Nicole, I feel your pain so much! I went through this a year and a half ago. (almost 2 years now) It's not something that is fun to go through and I didn't have a support system! Thank God you do have Rick to fall on and help you through this! If you ever need to talk, please feel free. I've been there done that and I struggle daily with it still. It's never a good feeling thinking that your kids don't want to live with you. What's better there that I can't offer here? Just know you are a strong individual and God has a master plan. Though we may not know and understand, he has control!

  6. Nicole,
Thanks for the visit to Family Fountain and comment. I always appreciate what you have to say.

I am sorry for these events in your home. I don't know the background to your boys wanting to leave, but I can imagine the pain tearing at your heart.

Do you practice more discipline than their dad does? That is a frequent reason for kids wanting to leave. If this is it, it sounds like you and Rick aren't relaxing the standards. If that is what is happening, you are on the right track! It is up for the boys to figure out that a home with rules and discipline is the best bet for them.

Whether this is the explanation or not (and I am not asking or prying), the pain is still the same, and for that we will pray for you and your family.

    God bless.
