For Today ~ October 13, 2009
Outside my window... it is drizzly rainy and yucky.
I am thinking... about how disappointing it is to me that adults act so childish and selfish all in the name of making a point.
I am thankful ... that our family has grown closer and stronger through a difficult time that Satan intended to tear us apart.
I am wearing... workout clothes, but getting ready to take a shower and put on the new shirt my mom bought me this weekend.
I am remembering... the importance of loving your family with all you've got.
I am creating... birthday plans for Dawson.
I am going... to work as hard as I can the next couple of days so that I can enjoy the kids during our Fall Break that starts on Thursday.
I am reading... nothing, still.
I am hoping... that it is a success and happiness and love overshadow disappointment.
On my mind... is how frustrating to me it is that I have to be stressed out and worried because my ex-husband doesn't have a job. That shouldn't be a stress that I have in my life.
From the learning rooms... we continue to take baby steps of improvement.
Pondering these words... "I'm relishing becoming the older woman who knows a little bit about the world, mothering, pursuing a passion and cultivating a walk with God." ~ Amy Carroll from the article "Turtle Neckin" from the Proverbs 31 Ministries daily email devotion.
From the kitchen... we're having lots of poultry this week.
Around the house... seasonal clothes have finally been switched.
One of my favorite things... is this time of year. All of my kids birthdays are from August to the end of the year. Celebrating them, and fun holidays like Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas, makes life a whirlwind!
A few plans for the rest of the week... Today I am volunteering at our school to help with vision screening and Eli's parent/teacher conference is tonight. Then we'll all pile up on the couch to cry to, I mean, watch "The Biggest Loser". On Wednesday I always do lots of running around, getting teenagers to church and back, etc. On Thursday we are going to Livesay Orchard in Porter, Oklahoma. We haven't been to that particular pumpkin patch in 6 years and I think the little guys will love picking apples out of the orchard. On Friday is Morgan and Makenna's birthday party and on Saturday is Dawson's. Sunday is Dawson's 13th birthday, and we are taking the kids to the Planetarium. We don't have school on Monday, either, because of Fall Break, so we'll probably just really take it easy that day.
