This week I want to showcase my youngest child, Brynne.
I don't have an order picked out of how to showcase my children, but just decided that each Wednesday I would pick one of the kids that had "stood out" that week and write about him or her.
Brynne is a force to be reckoned with .. a tiny tornado of sorts. From the day she was born I knew "this one" was going to be "different".
Brynne does everything with intensity and gusto!! We laugh at her so hard, and so often! We often say that she will be the ruler of something some day. It might just be her own home, but it really might be a small country. Yesterday while one of the kids was whining through his homework, Brynne piped up and said, "I have homework!" Honestly, with all of the other kids' pre-k homework we would wait to do it until Friday morning, when it was due that afternoon but had been sent home on Monday. But not her. She was ready! She sat right down and traced all of her A's and colored the pictures, before I even hardly knew she had started. Then, on the paper where you are supposed to cut out a picture or two of an "A" item and glue it to the paper .. well, she decided to paint her pictures. She painted an apple, an alligator and an ant. And, she insisted that they all be red because that's the color they are studying. And, voila, it was done. And it's not due until Friday! What will we do between now and then???
This week she started soccer, her first sport. I've always suspected she would be our sports fanatic. She just has that look about her. Her practice was at 6:30 p.m., but she had her entire soccer outfit (shin guards and all) on by 3:45 p.m. And in true Brynne fashion, she was ultra serious about her practice. And to top it off, she's good. She knows nothing about soccer, but somehow she knows exactly how to play. My free Saturdays now seem to be over.
Honestly, she is just a joy. She is bossy as all get out, but she is a joy while she's doing it! She is the comic relief to my day and I don't know what I'll do when she's not here with me during the day. Oh, I know, I'll get to relax! But, it sure will be quiet!
My Brynne ... What a kid!!!
